Around 1933 the COG made a remarkable departure from three gods to two which flew in the face of mainstream Christianity. In 1994 some ministers made the final step back to 1 God and father of all, by throwing out Church tradition and replacing it with sound and clear approach to scripture. The COG was heading backwards toward 3 gods and the thinkers and the truth seekers found their way to 1 God, but you never heard about it because it was concealed to protect church tradition. A minister was even disfellowshipped over the One God doctrine and breaking with the tradition. You see it wasn’t over scripture, it wasn’t even allowed to be discussed… Whether you agree or disagree with the conclusion, you should be able to have sound biblical debate, especially among the COE. In light of this lets take a fresh look at some of the scriptures in question. John 1:1-14
The reason the councils and synods took hundreds of years to develop the doctrine of Incarnation is that it is not stated in Scripture, and the verses used to support it can be explained without resorting to a doctrine that bears more similarity to pagan mythology than biblical truth. Teaching the Jews that God came down in the form of a man would have completely offended those living at the time of Christ and the Apostles, and greatly contradicted their understanding of the Messianic Scriptures. As we saw in Chapter 9, this doctrine is derived most prominently from the gospel of John, and in particular from the phrase in John 1:14 (KJV): “And the Word was made flesh….” But was “the Word” synonymous with “the Messiah” in Jewish understanding? Hardly. The Jews would have understood it to mean “plan” or “purpose,” that which was clearly and specifically declared in Genesis 3:15—a “seed” of a woman who would destroy the works of the Devil. This plan of God for the salvation of man finally “became flesh” in Jesus Christ. This verse is not establishing a doctrine of Incarnation contrary to all prophetic expectations, nor a teaching of pre-existence. It is a teaching of God’s great love in bringing into existence His plan to save mankind from their sin.
Luke 1:27-35 Mary. She was promised in marriage to a man named Joseph. Joseph was of the family of David. 28 The angel came to her and said, “You are honored very much. You are a favored woman. The Lord is with you. *You are chosen from among many women.”
29 When she saw the angel, she was troubled at his words. She thought about what had been said. 30 The angel said to her, “Mary, do not be afraid. You have found favor with God. 31 See! You are to become a mother and have a Son. You are to give Him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great. He will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the place where His early father David sat. 33 He will be King over the family of Jacob forever and His nation will have no end.”
34 Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen? I have never had a man.” 35 The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you. The power of the Most High will cover you. The holy Child you give birth to will be called the Son of God.
Mary is going to have a baby, she is gong to give birth, to a new child His name will be Jesus, Son, not daughter, of Who! THE MOST HIGH, we know from this that the Father only holds the title The Most High.
