How many Gods does it take to be One God?

Shining Light blog below with my comments in black bold, This is a long but necessary look at tradition verses the knowledge of Hebrew scripture.

The Plurality of GOD! Is This blasphemy 1. Thou Shall have no other(anyone anything) before ME not Us.

THE PLURALITY OF GOD!    (Be ready to be beheaded by the Islamic beast for having more than one God)

Gen. 1:26  “And God (Elohim, plural) I have talked to Nehemiah Gordon Hebrew University scholar, he has a paper on this verse, I have quoted him several times, I have talk to Orthodox Jews in Miami and Jerusalem and even a messianic Jew in Jerusalem and they confirmed that Elohim in Gen.1 is singular because of the singular adjective and verb. said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:..” It doesn’t say who the father was addressing the seventy elders his council of angels, the Nehemiah Gordon paper covers this Us, as the royal We.  [From the very beginning, Creation is represented as a collaborative effort of two Beings, here speaking as one.]  Gen. 3:22 reflects the same plurality of Beings,  “And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:..” So in the image of God He made them. Singular

Now turn to Isaiah 48:11-12. “For  my own sake, I do it, for how should  my name be profaned? ‘My glory I will  not give to another.(My “singular” glory “possessive” to another “singular” The father is the only true God.) Hearken to ME, O  Jacob, and Israel, whom I called!  I am  He, I am the first, and I am the last.’”  Verses 17-18 show it was YHVH (Absolutely)  . And also in Isaiah 41:4,  “Who has performed and done this,  calling the generations from the beginning?  I, the LORD [YHVH], the first, and with  the last; I am He.” This should end the debate I am He the singular one God and father of all.

For further proof that Jesus the Saviour  is YHVH, see Isaiah 49:7 and  Isaiah 60:16, where He — YHVH — is  the Redeemer and Saviour and also  “the Mighty One of Jacob”  Isaiah 48:17, How did the father save the Israelites in Egypt? through a raised up deliverer, Moses Deut.18:18 If this wasn’t the father talking to Moses then it would have to read and I shall raise myself up to be a prophet like you Moses.

All of these scriptures show that  YHVH is the first and last. Christ is  clearly the YHVH of the Old Testament! Complete nonsense

Thomas also left no doubt, in exclaiming Jesus as his Lord and God. (John 20:28) Jesus is Thomas lord(Adoni) and god, mighty one, again proof Elohim is singular, now you just learned something new. (If he’d been incorrect, wouldn’t Jesus have corrected him?  The account in John was written six decades after the event.  If Thomas had overstated or misstated, wouldn’t John have clarified or qualified the statement during those decades?)  Both before His birth and after His death, Jesus is referred to as God. Jesus is reffered to as god and so are we, god is a title, but there is only One God, supreme eternal being that has immortality. I Tim 6:15-16

Isaiah 9:6 makes a definitive identification, by affirming that one of the names and roles of God’s Son is the Everlasting Father!  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

No man has seen God [Jesus obviously speaking of God the Father since he himself was saying this] or heard His voice at any time.  “And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.” (Jn.5:37)

At any time?  Then who was the God who walked with Adam and Eve? Glad you asked, The father   Who ate with Abraham before going on toward Sodom? Glad you asked the angel of the lord  Who did Jacob wrestle with all night? Glad you asked the bible gives us all the the answers Ps. (Gen. 32:24-30)  Who was the God that  spoke with Moses face to face? and identified himself as YHVH? Glad you asked the father  (Ex. 33:11)  Who did Moses see in glorified form, even being imbued with a small measure of that radiance himself thereafter? Glad you asked the father(Ex. 34:29)  Who did Moses, Aaron and the seventy elders see and eat before on the mountain? Glad you asked (Ex. 24:9-11)

Not only must we accept that no man can ‘come to’ the Father but through His Son, but we are to have the SAME regard for BOTH the Father and the Son!  John 5:22-25  “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”(1st Jn. 2:23)  “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father.  He that honours not the Son honours not the Father which hath sent him.

The word honor or worship means to obey; and we are to worship or obey Christ as our Head, because he is our espoused Husband and Creator; Jesus is not our creator Mark 10:6 Jesus states it was the father who created them male and female. and he is utterly faithful to his Father who may become our Father in Christ. We are also expressly commanded to obey the Father, both by the law and directly by Jesus Christ.

How can we obey BOTH the Father and the Son?  Because they are ONE in total agreement!

1 Cor 11   Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances [of God], as I delivered them to you. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God [The Father]. It clearly doesn’t say {The Father} that is the Trinitarians adding to scripture! The Head of Christ Is Who? “God” Singular

In keeping with Isaiah 9:6, the ‘Alpha and Omega’  Rev 1:6, 1:11, 22:3; and in Rev 21:6, says  “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.Even Jesus refers directly to Himself as God!

Here Jesus plainly says that he was from the beginning!  and will exist until the end!  Not that there will be an end, but meaning that he will always exist!

The Alpha and Omega is the one who was alive but died and was made alive again!  (Rev. 1:8, 11 & 18)  The same will become the God (god) of all overcomers, [the Head of the faithful under the Father]  with the Father for all eternity!

Richard Trevor has supplied many of these scriptures below.    Some of these scriptures will require some thought.  For example Zech 14:16 speaks of the nations going up to worship “the King, the Lord of Hosts” at Jerusalem.  Who is the King who will be at Jerusalem? The LORD of Hosts of Israel!  Remember that Isaiah [9:6] called the Messiah the “Mighty God”!!!

1.  There are two Beings at God’s Throne in heaven, That would make two gods, there is  Only one  God on the throne James 2:19 The Demons know they see they are spirit beings and can see the very throne of the Father and tremble.

2.  These two share many names in common.

LORD: Ps.110:1 & 5,   Father: Isa.9:6,    Ancient of Days: Dan.7:9, 13 & 22,   God: Heb.1:8 / Ps.45:6-7

3.  That one God Being creating exclusively thru the other.

Jn.1:3 & 10,  Heb1:2 & 11:3,  Eph.3:9,  Gen.1:26

4.  That the second Being pre-existed and was known to man originally before the first Being was.

Jn.1:8,  Jn.6:62,  Eph.4:10,  Jn.6:42

5.  That the second Being came to Earth and revealed the first.

Jn.1:8,  Mt.11:27,  Lk.10:22,

6.  That the first Being was never seen or heard by mankind, they not being able to exist in His presence. So Israel was deceived into believing in one god when there was really two, no wonder they never really believed!

Jn.5:37,  (Ex.24:9-11),  1Jn.4:12,  1 Tim.6:16,  Jn.1:18,  Heb.12:29

7.  Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms all wrote of Jesus. Absolutely he was the promised messiah from the father, as the father told Moses Deut.18:18

Lk.24:44,  Jn.5:39 & 46,  Zech.14:16,  1 Cor.10:4

8.  That the Father the Jews (Israel) knew wasn’t God the Father, he was Jesus the Creator Father. “Right” more deception brethren, are we crazy to think our father would lie to us?

Lk.2:49,  Jn.8:54-55,  Jn.8:41-42,  Jn.16:3

9.  That the Lord which King David’s worshiped in his lifetime was later born into his physical lineage 1000 years in David’s future. Something that was born a begetting Gen.1:18 The Genesis of Jesus, the beginning of Jesus was just that. To be from David’s lineage would mean it can into existence in his mothers womb like you and me. If not then a live being laid dormant for 9 months and wasn’t actually the beginning of Gods’ creation but a already existing being passing thru the womb of his mother as a adopted son of Mary and Joseph with no creating or passing of lineage because it already existed before resting in the womb for nine months. So unlike you or me this Jesus guy was nothing like us in any way other than appearance of a man, but not truly a man but a godman.

Ps.110:1,  Mt.22:45-46,  Lk.1:32

10. That one consistent Divine Being has dealt with humanity and will deal with mankind from creation to the completed spiritual creation.

12. That God engaged in a ‘determinate counsel’ before implementing the Redemptive Process.

Jn.12:48-49,  Phil.2:7,  Ac.2:23

13. That Jesus Christ was really and truly dead and unconscious! Which means he wasn’t God, because God can’t die. Which means he had a end.

Phil.2:8,  Rom.8:11 & 10:9,  1 Cor.15:15,  2 Cor.4:14,  Eph.1:20,  Heb.2:9

14. That the Apostle Paul referred to Christ as ‘God’ and Creator.

1 Cor.8:6,  1 Tim.3:16,  Heb.1:8-9,  Phil.2:11,  Eph.3:9,  (1 Tim.1:17?)

15. That God has a God!  That the ‘Word’, who was with God, was also God. English folly Ps.33:6 explains where the word came from… From the breath of his mouth guess where are word comes from! The word of John 1:1 is and It not a he. William Tyndale bible 1534 available to anyone online.

17. That the second Being chose to divest Himself of His Glorified state.  The terms second being, Chose, glorified state and divest, are not in my bible, it is a Trinitarian insert into scripture. Jn.17:5,  Jn.1:14,  Phil.2:6-9

2 Pe.1:4,  Rom.8:17,  Col.1:15,  Phil.3:21,  1 Jn.3:2,  1 Cor.15:49-52,  Jn.1:12

24. That God the Father will co-exist on Earth only after death is expunged in the Lake of Fire. This coexist is not biblical statement

1 Cor.15:27-28,  Re.20:4,  Re.21:1-4,  Re.22:,  2 Pe.3:12,  1 Cor15:26

The word Elohim means Mighty Ones and is a generic term for God, or gods; for any authority. (It is always singular when the verb is singular and the adjective which both are singular in Gen. 1:1 The scholars I talked to confirmed this.)

The word YHVH [The Eternal] refers to both the Father and the Son, for BOTH are Eternal, yet it most explicitly refers to the Creator who was the God of his creation throughout the period from creation, until  he gave up his divinity to be made flesh; and then had his glory returned to him in a resurrection back to spirit by the Father.

Jesus identified himself with his own mouth as the “I AM”; the prophets identified Messiah as “God with us”, and the writers of scripture identified the one who became  flesh as the Creator, the “I AM”,  the God of humanity; along with the Father in heaven! (“ Error he said I am he, the  promised messiah from the one God of the old testament.” Just as he told the Samaritan lady I am he the promised messiah, by the God of our fathers the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob Acts. 2) Wake up brethren

Let us consider the greatness of the sacrifice that was made for our salvation; the death of the very Creator of man and of all things..

This said clearly in English is:  the Eternal our Mighty Ones is One [in unity]  We shall see when we go over the last words of Christ in John that Jesus plainly says that he and the Father are .ONE.  The Shema does not refer to one being; but a fully united family of beings.

The term Elohim means Mighty Ones and refers to all that is called god, and even includes human authorities like rulers and judges.

The Shema differentiates the family of YHVH [the Eternal] from all other Elohim [authorities, lords and masters].  YHVH is the name of a Family of Eternal Beings, a family now made up of two members, and soon to be expanded with vast numbers of more spiritual beings in complete unity with the present Two;  who will receive the gift of eternal life!

The Jews and the Jewish scholars along with many others would never render the Hebrew biblical words to the meaning above…I’ve take the the time to ask and to read the Hebrew words, shame on us for putting Greek Trinitarian meanings into the Shema…

Even the word  church [Ekklesia] means ONE  body, yet composed of many members  (I Cor. 12:12). A husband and wife are  ONE FLESH, yet two persons. Is. 44 I alone am God who else is there besides Me?

Deut. 6:4, 5 known to Jews as the Sh’ma uses BOTH Jehovah [YeHovah] and Elohim to indicate one God [AS IN “FAMILY”] with a plurality of persons.

The Sh’ma is a proof text for the Unitarians, who fixate on the statement in English  “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD”: and ignore the implications of the uniplural word Elohim.

Hear [H8085] (8798), O Israel [H3478]: The LORD [H3068 YeHovah  “I AM”] our God [H430 Elohim uniplural] [is] one [H259] LORD [H3068 YeHovah “I AM”]:

Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: The father is Lord Adonia and the son is lord Adoni that’s two lords…

With the Hebrew names: Deu 6:4  Hear, O Israel: The “I AM” our God [Elohim, uniplural as in Family], is one “I AM”: Please ask for a second opinion

Clearly meaning that the “I AM” is the Family Name of the God[Elohim] family itself !  The father is not a family he is the only Eternal being, everything else, and everyone else, were created, especially his only begotten son. The first human to receive something no other has, Eternal Life something one can’t receive if he already had it.

The term “I AM” designates one as a member of the God Family. The term I am that I am, is a statement of self existence.

BOTH the Father and the Son are a part of the “I AM”[YHVH] Family; they are BOTH GOD!  BOTH are ELOHIM!  BOTH are Self Existent Mighty Ones!  The “I AM” Family is ONE Family of [Elohim] Mighty Ones or God!  Not one scripture here to prove this 3rd century Greek multi-god extra biblical thought.

Yet the Father remained unknown until the Son came to reveal him and provide access to him! This is NOT understood by those [Jews, Unitarians, etc] who reject Christ as Creator. Opposite is true the Jews,  which Jesus being one and the Muslims, understand the meaning of the word one, as singular not the Nicean version or Bill Clinton version post 3rd century.

Comment:Hi James, I just got back from 2 weeks in Israel and I talked to many Orthodox and messianic Jews about Gen. 1:1 I also have a paper from Nehemiah Gordon and the Aleph Tav which explain the use of the singular and the plural use of Elohim. Every scholar I spoke with and Hebrew language experts all agree that Elohim in Gen. 1:1 is Singular. If you read the Chomash the Hebrew English version of the bible, you will see this pinnacle verse in the bible very clearly states the father is the only God of both old and new testament. Every COG group has it wrong and I still offer 10,000 dollars to anyone who can site a verse of Jesus saying anything before he was created.

I am surprised that you say “I still offer 10,000 dollars to anyone who can site a verse of Jesus saying anything before he was created.”

There are so many references to Jesus prior existence, in His own words throughout the gospels.

Just one example, in His own words, which he spoke on the final Passover evening before His crucifixion:-.

Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Jesus is saying that before the world existed He shared glory with God the Father.

Would Jesus be asking the Father to glorify Him with a glory that He had earlier, if He had not had it in the first place? It would make no sense.

There are many other verses where Jesus makes reference to His previous existence.

Not only that, but sometimes, even in everyday speech, Jesus made references which only made sense if He had a preexistence. One instance is in Mathew 23v37, talking of Jerusalem. .

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

How often in His physical life could Jesus have ever been in a position to do such a thing?

He has to be speaking of His earlier existence, when he witnessed all the tragic events that occurred in Jerusalem over the centuries.

Again in Luke 10v18 he refers to another event which He could only have witnessed in a previous existence.

Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

There are plenty of other scriptures I could quote, which I will happily do so before you send me the 10,000 dollars!
