Who Do U Say that I am?

Matt.5 (Jesus) He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church,

A variety of opinions prevailed among the people of that day about who the Son of Man was. By divine revelation Peter knew the truth, and he spoke it on this occasion without fear: “You are the Christ, the Son of God.” Would you agree, this confession is important? Certainly. In fact, we know that the person who refuses to acknowledge this truth is refusing to be saved! Jesus said “if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins,” (Jno. 8:24). And He said through John, “whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,” (1 Jno. 5:1). Likewise, “whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in Him, and He in God,” (1 Jno. 4:15). This confession is the proposition that lies at the very foundation of the gospel plan; it is a truth that must be confessed and believed. It is important.
If you look up explanations on what is meant by, “on this Rock I shall build my Church” is the foundation of our faith who is God and who is not. If we get this wrong, the rest of our understanding is based on a foundation that is on sand. Who do you say I am is a definitive question! Peter did not say you are the god of the old testament, He did not say you are God, neither did he say you are the second god in a god head! Peter said that he was the son of the one who is God. This is so very important to understand that Jesus told us he would build his church on this understanding, that he was not God, but the of God. H went on to tell e told Pilate for this purpose he was born Luke 23:3 Then Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews? He answered him and said, “It is as you say.” Luke 22:70 Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?”So He said to them, “You rightly say that I am.” Twice he could of told them the truth! but the church fathers have taught for 1700 years that Jesus is God the son which is never in scripture, but the son of Mary the son of David. I will not execute the fierceness of My anger;
I will not again destroy Ephraim.
For I am God, and not man,

And I will not [a]come with terror
