Ex.3:14 I Am That I Am verses John 8:58

Ex. 3:13 And Moses said unto God, behold when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them the God of your fathers hath sent me unto you. and they shall say to me, what is his name? what shall I say unto them? First we must establish who is the god of our fathers? was it Jesus or the father? Peter answers this in Acts 3:13 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his son. 18. But those things, which God(father) before showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Acts. 229-30 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. 30. Therefore being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with and oath to him that of the fruit of his loins,(the seed) according to the flesh, He(the father) would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; ( So we know Jesus wasn’t yet in heaven by the fathers statement) Notice the Hebrew bible rendering of Ex.3:14 “The God of your forefathers has sent me to you, and they say to me What is His name, what shall I say to them? God said to Moses I Shall Be, As I shall Be, And he said, So shall you say to the Children of Israel, I Shall Be has sent me to you. And say further Did God to Moses . So shall you say to the children of Israel Hashem or your forefathers the God of Abraham Isaac and of Jacob, has sent me to you.”  Commentary, What is his Name? Obviously the Jews knew the various names of God, so that the question cannot be understood literally. God has many Names each of which represents the way in which He reveals himself through His behavior toward the world. When He is merciful, He is called Hashem, the name represents compassion. This name also represents the eternity of God, for it is composed of the letters that spell, He was and He will be. meaning that God is timeless. When he exercises strict judgment, He is called Elohim. When He exercises His mastery over nature and performs hidden miracles, as he did for the patriarchs, He is called Shaddai. Thus Moses was saying that once the Jews accepted him as God’s emissary, they would want to know which of God’s attributes He would manifest in the course of redeeming them from Egypt. I Shall Be As I Shall Be. This is in itself a Divine Name. Literally I Shall Be – is as follows: I shall be with them in this sorrow, as I shall be with them in other sorrows. To this Moses replied, “An evil in its own time is enough” Why should You imply to them that there will be future exiles; is it not enough that they suffer now in Egypt? Accepting Moses argument, God instructed him to say, {“I Shall Be with them in this sorrow} has sent me to you.” Brethren this is worth the study and we need to understand the Hebrew mindset and understanding of ancient Israel to grasp the true meaning of scripture.

John 8:58 Before Abraham was I Am. Gen.22:18 The promise to Abraham for his faithfulness that all of his off spring including the future Messiah would be a blessing. Luke 10:24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see and have not seen them and to hear those things which you hear and have heard not them. Gal. 3:8 And the scripture foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith preached before the gospel unto Abraham saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed. John 8:41 We have one father even God. 42. Jesus said unto them if God were your father, you would love me.53. Art thou greater than (Or equal to God?) our father Abraham, which is dead and the prophets are dead, whom makest thou thyself? Commentary from “One God One Lord by Grasser, Lynn, Schoenheit.” page 462 Trinitarians argue that this verse John 8:58 states that Jesus said he was the “I am” (i.e.the Yahweh of the old testament) so he must be God. This is just not the case. Saying “I am” does not make a person God. The man born blind that Jesus healed was not claiming to be God John 9:9 and he said “I am the man,” and the Greek reads exactly like Jesus statement, :i.e.”I am” and the other as “I am the man” This is one reason it is hard for average Christians to get the truth from just reading the Bible as it has been translated by Trinitarians into English.” Paul uses the same phrase of himself in Acts 26:29 when he said that he wished all men were as “I am”.

Brethren there is much  more on this verse and this topic! Jesus is simply stating that he was before Abraham because he was the promised Messiah to take the throne of all Israel Just as David Moses and the prophets foretold  there would be and rejoiced to see the day.

Shining Light blog confuses it’s readers !

Please read carefully below and notice the two key figures God and Jesus! God always referring to the father and Jesus always referring to the son. It tell us that the father was the creator and Jesus was the created. Mr. Malm, can’t understand this monumental truth that Jesus was a created son, yet read carefully
ROMANS 1:1-20 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 1:2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power,(So how does the created Jesus from the seed of David, called Son of “Who” God, become, “God the Son?”)?) according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 1:6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. For the invisible things of Him(The Father) from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

God can be seen in his creation. Malm writes “For example it takes both a male and a female to reproduce. There is no way that both male and female could have popped into existence at the same time. Therefore, no reproduction and NO evolution! All life had to have been created by God. Why? Is it not because of fear? And is fear not born of our sin? Why did Adam hide himself from God? Was it not because of his feelings of guilt which is called shame? It is sin which separates us from our Father Is. 59. If we were close to God through the zealous keeping of his commandments we would not fear to stand on his word.”
It is sin that separated Adam and Eve From the father, not Jesus. Jesus was created, to be the path back to the father through the his atonement and our repentance. God calls, Jesus lead’s us, we follow Jesus where? Back from our separation from God, because of our sin, which cut us off. Eph.4:6 One God and father of all who is above all, and through all and iChrist of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my Gospel.
n you all. Phil.2:9 Wherefore “God” also hath highly exalted him(Jesus) and given him a name which is above every name:(That name is not God) II.Tim 2:8 Remember that Jesus

1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves [homosexuality]: 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie [Calling the things of God lies], and worshipped and served the creature [creation our idols of men] more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly [homosexuality], and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet [receiving the appropriate consequences of their actions; sufferings].

1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient [not good for them];

Colin Brown a Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary says” To be a Son of God, one has to be a being who is not God.” Sir Anthony Buzzard writes in his book Jesus was not a Trinitarian. “One may consult any good bible dictionary and one will search in vain for any hint that “Son Of God” describes an uncreated second member of the Godhead. The Peril of adding “Gods” to the one God of Jesus and Israel’s creed is extreme. The addition of “gods” of any description to the One God of the Bible is in fact the ultimate crime against God. Readers should inspect their own thinking on this point with urgency and care. Did not Paul warn that amongst the follies committed by humankind was that of worshipping the created being in place of the Creator?” Buzzard goes on to say! ” Two thousand years later the precious biblical term “Son of God” has suffered severe confusion. This is because Jesus’ identity has been revised by the church and its creeds to mean “God the Son.” Jesus’ biblical title “Son of God” has at the same time been retained, but given a new non-biblical context, severed from its Hebrew roots and made to express the idea of a second uncreated Person. “God the Son.” Where terminology has been altered , a difference of meaning has naturally occurred. There has been a subtle and significant change of Identity. Detective work is needed to expose and clear up the shift in the title given to Jesus. It was a shift so monumental that it actually led to the disturbance of the most central of all biblical truths that the father is “The only one who is truly God.” (John 17:3)
It is sin that separated Adam and Eve From the father, not Jesus. Jesus was created, to be the path back to the father through the his atonement and our repentance. God calls, Jesus lead’s us, we follow Jesus where? Back from our separation from God, because of our sin, which cut us off. Eph.4:6 One God and father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Phil.2:9 Wherefore “God” also hath highly exalted him(Jesus) and given him a name which is above every name:(That name is not God) II.Tim 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David raised from the dead according to my Gospel.

Who is like the Beast?

Rev.13:4 And they worshipped the dragon (Satan Islam) which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with Him? 3I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast; 4they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?” 5There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him .Exodus 15:11 Who among the gods is like you, LORD? Who is like you– majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Isaiah 46:5″ With whom will you compare Me or count Me equal? To whom will you liken Me that we may be compared?

Notice the words, the language, the singular pronouns! The Dragon is the Elohim of this world, He is the singular being known as Lucifer. Ex. 15:11 is making the same singular pronouncement, LORD 3068 the Eternal the father and He describes himself as, the God of gods (Plural more than one) Me.

Pulpit Commentary Verse 4. – And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast; because be gave his authority (Revised Version) is found in all the best manuscripts. The devil had sought to beguile Christ by offering to him all the kingdoms of the world. His efforts with men are more successful. They worship him on account of the worldly wealth and influence which he bestows. And they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? Insert “and” with Revised Version: and who is able, etc.? The beast usurps the homage due to God alone (cf. the song of those who had triumphed in Revelation 15:4, “Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy Name?” cf. also Exodus 15:11; Micah 7:18, etc.). The adherents of the beast thus intimate their belief in his superior prowess and his ability to succeed in his war against those who “keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus.

Again look at the words and the language! O Lord, Thy Name, fear thee. These are all references to the father our great God. There is no second god. The Glory is in Yehovah…

Shining light repeats same scriptural mistake! Day after Day

Shining light Author James Malm, hammers away at UCG and COGWA for water down doctrine and being liberal, as he has rejected correction himself, on his two god Nicean Apostasy… Author Malm follows HWA in his two god theory, in light of a one God bible. The burden of proof is on those changing Gods’ word from one to two breaking the first commandment of having other(more than one) God before ME. Not Us. Brethren the two god scenario was 1/3 step back from where we came from the Trinity. Brethren we have to grow in grace and knowledge, we still are 1/3 away from knowing our father and our and Jesus God. 3/3 Trinity, 2/3 Binatarianism 1/1 Monotheism. Just because a man a preacher a pope says something is true and they repeat it often doesn’t make it so. We must search the bibles of different translations and find the truth. Nothing is more evident than this core doctrine of the bible. Day after day post after post Shining light blog blurs the reality of scripture with the doctrine of men… Would a true seeker of truth a Christian in the truest sense of the word think that they know it all? I certainly don’t think I do, we all have blind spots and need to sharpen iron with iron. If I’m wrong then I would expect you or Mr Malm to shine some light on my error! Wouldn’t you want someone to point out your error to you. Like I’ve said before, this is not personal with Shining light author, it is in the spirit of seeking the truth, as the pearl of great price. Now below I point out Mr Malms assumption  that Jesus was inter acting with Joshua is in complete denial with scripture. There has to be rules of language, especially in the bible, a Hebrew book with a Greek new testament, with Trinitarian translators, into English. Folks this in itself is a mountain to conquer. The Daniel 12:4 Knowledge shall be much increased which happened around 1995. HWA didn’t have a tenth of the knowledge that is available to us today. As Peter says in Acts 3:17 there was a time of overlooking the truth but now we are called to go forward and continue learning, not reading a NIcean creed back into our bibles as though it was true.

Joshua 24

Then were all the people gathered [not just the leaders as in Joshua 23] so that Joshua could address the whole nation.

24:1 And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.

Joshua then reports the word of YHVH [Jesus Christ] to all the people,  rehearsing  the history of the nation and its relationship with God.

In the beginning of Israel, Jesus Christ first revealed himself to Abraham and called him out of his city and then revealed himself to Isaac, Jacob and Joseph; and then they went down into Egypt to become an allegory of the spiritual called out.

24:2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.  24:3 And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac. 24:4 And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.

Physical Egypt a type of bondage was destroyed by Christ, picturing Christ destroying spiritual bondage by his atoning sacrifice as the ultimate Lamb of God.  Then Israel was called out of physical Egypt and crossed the Red Sea by the power of Christ; to celebrate a total victory over bondage to the spiritual pharaoh Satan, at the resurrection at the end of the sixth day of Unleavened Bread, after which the High Day representing the millennial Sabbath of rest was celebrated.

Jesus Christ is not YHVH, he is the son of YHVH, this is the story of the bible, a promise to Israel that the father would raise up a prophet like Moses Deut.18:18 one of the most important scriptures in the bible, quoted more times by me than any other. Read it, I report, you decide.

Shining Light blog condems UCG and COGWA for winter family weekends!

Writer of shining light blog James Malm compares winter family weekend to xmas and declares it worldly. Todays post is sure to generate high ratings among followers! On the surface this might have some merits, depending on how one views it. To get together with brethren for several days on a national holiday where all schools and businesses are off seems to be a good thing to do. We have a chance to spend quality time with people of like mind have fellowship and sports events. The up side is the employees of the hotel and community see us in action. We don’t talk Xmas and we don’t participate in its celebration. We also conduct Sabbath services without any Xmas music. We could stay at home and do nothing! I personally have never been to a winter family weekend, but have talked with many who have, all good for the most part… I actually was thinking of attending this year for the first time, so I certainly wouldn’t let Mr Malms opinion sway me. We are called to be lights and not on a xmas tree, but in person as we interact with gentiles among us. Your personal example is just that! You can be the difference in someone else’s walk by steering the conversation towards the godly. Mr Malm goes on to condeem the motive and the false doctrine that are practiced by the COGs… When false understanding is pointed out to Shining Light author he is like John Brown and ignores converted scriptural criticsiam. Mr Malm refuse to acknowledge that Jesus is nowhere found speaking to anyone in the old testament! I offered $10.000 dollars to Him, I’ve showed him scriptures he ignores. Brethren all scriptures are give for correction and righteousness, not just the ones we like…  Below Mr Malm.

If we turn aside to idols and false traditions, we shall surely fail to conquer sin and to be chosen to enter the promised land of eternity.  If we in any way turn aside to sin and join together in trying to marry false doctrine with the true, to mix the profane with the holy; thereby polluting the whole lump; Jesus Christ will no more go before us to drive sin out of us, and shall turn on us to correct us as he did to physical Israel.  These things the COG Groups have done and now follow false tradition and their idols of men; having NO zeal to passionately follow Christ and keep his word.

Above, first false traditions, and false doctrines are just that 325 NIcea. Mr Malm refuses to acknowledge his hersey!  Jesus Christ did not correct physical Israel, this is a tradition of repetitions! If you say Jesus was the god of the old testament enough times you will actually think its true… If you say God is a family enough times, guess what you’ll think its true. None of the COGs have ever given these two extra biblical statements a true examination. Mr Armstrong was completely wrong about John 1:1 in which he always said “The bible doesn’t start in Gen. 1:1 but it starts in John 1:1” I heard him personally state it, and it sounded right at the time, as I was learning the bible… In theory it was correct, but in doctrine it was in error and set the COG up for a self inflicted wound, in which it has never recovered.  The fathers wisdom and Logos where what He started with, there was no physical creation yet. That is what John is saying in John 1:1 which “His” not “they’re” wisdom is what preceeded Gen.1:1 account of physical creation. You have to have the smarts, the capabilities, the plan, before you can implement it. This magnificent wisdom is what makes the father God, who alone posses it. I Tim.6:15 Mr Malm is trying to use zeal and commandment compromising to make you feel guilty and follow him! But you need to have Zeal for all the scriptures especially the 1rst one. “Thou Shall have no other god’s(plural) before Us”? Look it up!

The Struggles of life!

Religion and whether there right or wrong is probably life’s most difficult struggle! I grew up a Catholic and went to Catholic school for 8 years, which I did enjoy! In fact it was the best place to be at that time in my life… I always said, I would send my kid, or recommend you to send your kids to Catholic school, over public school, no matter what I believed about the doctrine of the Catholic church. I’ve always believed that if you believe what you hear, how can I change that! Each person that the father calls has to make his, or her, own decision on whether they will respond. Once you make that decision you begin a life time journey that will challenge your brain and convert your heart, for the rest of your life… From 1933-1974 HWA believed that Pentecost should be observed on a Monday, even though some around him told hi other wise, they even presented him with papers, but he wasn’t hearing them! It was a Struggle, and 10,000 people left over his decision! Was it the right decision, was it worth the struggle? How could this man be wrong for so long and if he corrected the error and did the right thing, why did so many people leave? In this same time 1974 there was another major doctrinal shift in Divorce and remarriage. The bible clearly authorized divorce as Jesus states in Mark 10:5-7 because of the hardness of their hearts, but it is whether a person can remarry that is the Struggle! The bible isn’t the problem in most of these cases, it is the interpretation. Modern church organizations seem to follow a corporate style of running there churches. When the spiritual leaders or elders are also the caretakers of the business end of things, often there time is consumed running a corporation and the truth, or the doctrine suffer. The COGs starting with WWCOG are no exception to this model. When people of God have plenty of time to pray, study and think, they are always going to have a better chance of understanding. No church or group is perfect and most don’t claim to be. So where are we then? Growing, refining, learning, engaging, in Knowledge and grace. The lifetime struggle then, either you give up or you become what the father hoped and called you for. The only failure in your calling is giving up… We have to press on to the goal until we die or Jesus Christ returns. So are we thankful for another year of refining ourselves before our God and Father and his son Jesus? Lets rejoice.

Thee Eternal Jesus Christ?

Shining light Claims Jesus is Eternal, then slams UCG for calling the 8h day of FOT the Last Great Day. The 7 days of FOT have always been separated feast from the 8th day at least in the last 44 years. Them author James Malm who understands not who God is and who He is not (Jesus the created Christ came from the seed of a women Luke 1:35 Gen.3 and Deut. 18:18 Understanding the one and only God is Paramount in our understanding. Mr Malm rejects the God of Israel for the created son of Yehovah the father. I ask you what is the greater misunderstanding the name for the 8th day festival or the knowledge that Jesus is not God but the son of God created in the womb of his mother like you and me that’s why he is called our brother not our God. Lets See what Shining light says about  this Nicean Heresy 325 A.D.

But Canaan as a whole refused to repent sincerely; they fought God and trustred in their own idols and false teachings to save them!  If we resist the word of God we shall all likewise perish; and if we are zealous for the whole word of God to learn it, to keep it, and to follow its author with zealous determination, fearing to turn away like Rahab;  WE shall be delivered as Rahab was!

This woman sheltered two spies in her house which was undoubtedly a capital offense worthy of death, as she would be perceived as putting the whole city in grave danger;  yet she risked the immediate danger and chose to fear God rather than man!

This whore had more faith and true repentance than very many of today’s called out, who today would not dare to stand up for the word of God against the pollution of the Sabbath or other false teachings. Rahab makes a declaration of faith and couples that declaration with action, saving the two men and placing her trust entirely in the hands of the Eternal Jesus Christ. Where is our faith and trust and belief in the word of God and the promises of our loving Lord today? Yes other Canaanites feared, but would not repent! Rahab feared and did sincerely repen and choose faith and trust in the word of God over all else.
Mr Malm is so used to interchanging Jesus for God he doesn’t even know he’s doing it, which means, He does not know who or what God is! How sad when its so clear that The father is God alone. Let us consider what the father tells us in IKings 8:60 That all people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, there is NO Other. Deut 4:39 “The Lord HIMSELF is God!” SINGULAR I write you decide how long you will falter between two gods?

Three is the Charm!

One can only speculate why the father decided to create beings, maybe being alone had run its course or He thought he would try a experiment! The old adage, if you love something set it free and see if it comes back to you of its own free will then you will truly know they love you. Lucifer was given the polishing touches of the grand creation and was maybe the most beautiful of Gods’ creations and it appear it started out promising until iniquity set in. Lucifer now Satan the Devil became full of darkness and the father of lies and the god( Elohim singular) of this world. The father must of been a little taken back by the rebellion. Second round he creates a physical being from the dust of the ground and calls him Adam. It doesn’t take very long for this Adam created in the image of his father to run amuck, and were only three chapters into the story. The father in Gen.3: has a conversation with these first two created beings and lets them know that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent, but it doesn’t say when. Now the third hands on of the fathers creation is going to be the charm and the father is even going to say that he is well pleased with his second Adam, what an amazing turn of events. Satan had grasp at being equal to the father, the first Adam tried to be like God and know good from evil. But the second Adam thought that being equal to God was not something to be grasped at so he became a servant leader even unto death to be a atonement for all mankind’s sin. How much do we grasp of the importance of getting completely right, not one sin yet tempted and falsely accused and beaten having no fault in him… Did the father get it right? By what Jesus did, changed the world, back to the fathers original plan of creating a family of beings with a free will to chose to live peacefully with him. Jesus is the first of the human being to every receive eternal life… Its a big “deal” no one had ever done it before or since. All other human beings wait in the grave for the resurrection. Jesus wasn’t getting back what he already had, it says he was the first born among many. Death couldn’t hold him because he hadn’t earned the penalty…Death holds David and the other kin listed in Matt.1:1-18 The father hoped Lucifer would love him, he gave him everything he needed to succeed, likewise with Adam he placed him in a garden east of Eden and it was spectacular but like Lucifer he had a free will and he used it. When Jesus was formed in the womb of his mother, he had the same promise as the other two of the fathers special creations but Jesus choose while sweating blood in fear and pain to do the right thing! What are we going to do today?

One step closer to Eternity!

One step closer to Eternity!

This is the first day, today, of the rest of your life. Its hard to wake up every day with a complete picture and motivation to serve God first and foremost. But as Christians we are called to be lights on the hill, to shine bright in our attitude and example to those we come in contact with. Traffic jams long lines waiting of the phone to speak to someone, slow computer upload ect. Someone being rude, a fight with mate, or best friend, these are challenges we face everyday and its how we deal with them, that lets us know how bright we shine. Shining the brightest doesn’t always equal the longest, some burn out and fall like lightening from heaven! Others are steady, not overly bright but not dark either. My best friend said once “That love is like a flickering light sometimes dim, and sometimes bright.” I remembered it and incorporated in the first song I ever wrote called “In the world” 1977 hopefully It will be available as this blog progresses to those who are following this blog and as the word travels that The Worldwide People of God have a place that they can all go regardless of their affiliation. When God calls people into his family he is calling you and me into his presents through his beloved son. Are responsibility is not to bring our worldly clicks and habits with us. All baptized COG people are do respect and inclusion, its a very important part of being a light in a dark world. We must overcome the world and its ways, to fellowship into eternity with God and his son. We must be living examples of light in dark places! So today while it is yet called today, we must light our candles and walk the walk and let others talk the talk…

No man has seen God at any time; John 1:18

The only begotten son in the bosom of the father, he  hath declared him. John 5:37 And the father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me, You have neither heard his voice at any time, not seen his form. Was Jesus then saying that no man period has seen or heard the father’s voice? Matt. 3:16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went straightway out of the water: and ,Lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him: 17. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Also Mark 1:11) Didn’t John the Baptist at least hear the voice of the father? Matt. 17:5 While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased; Who heard that? It was Peter, James and John. We might readily ask, why and how could John possibly be referring to a physical hearing in John 5:37, which was written decades after the actual event of Matt.17. Back to John 5:18 Jesus was addressing who? The Jews!  I John 4:12 “NO man hath seen God at any time, If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. This verse doesn’t say heard, only seen. 3John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God, but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. The real meaning of the Greek word seen here is referring to mental or spiritual perceiving of God. We as 21 century Christians have not physically seen or heard God but we know him and see him, if we keep his commandments. I John 2:3 But we have never actually met Him or Jesus yet. John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the father, save he which is of God he hath seen the father. John uses “seen” as “know” and perceive. If you’re a believer, you have “seen” God, if not you have not.John 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: If ye had known me, you should have known my father also. John 14:9 He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. This word “seen” is directly connected to being taken metaphorically and not literally.

This above is just a part of a great article from Richard Fix it can and should be read in it entirety @ http://www.israelofgod.org/JesusOTGod.htmp>
